Statement of Faith

This church stands on the belief that the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments consisting of the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation, to be the revealed Word of God, and the only infallible rule and guide for faith, doctrine, and conduct of the church. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 12:6, 19:7, Proverbs 30:5, Isaiah 55:11 )

 2. We believe that the historic era of the Protestant Reformation produced valuable divine insights that are key in keeping the church from the errors still currently present in the Roman Catholic Church. These insights are known as the five Solas. The word Sola is the Latin word for “only” and they are Sola scriptura – “Scripture alone”(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21), Sola fide – “Faith alone” (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:9) , Sola Gratia – “Grace alone” (Ephesians 2:8-9), Solo Christo – “Christ alone” (John 14:6, Hebrews 4:14-16) , and Soli Deo gloria – “To the Glory of God alone” (1 Corinthians 10:31). We accept these historical Solas as guidance from our church Fathers and maintain them as a lens gifted by the Holy Spirit for the church in order to help keep her pure.

 3. We believe that all of mankind has sinned and falls short of the glory of God and needs a Savior to make peace with our heavenly creator, and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ we are given that Savior through faith alone in His finished work on the cross and subsequent resurrection from the dead. (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:9 & 13)

 4. We believe that by trusting in the Gospel of Jesus Christ through repentance by seeking and receiving forgiveness of our sins and surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord over our lives we are saved from the just penalty of eternal torment and given eternal life. (John 3:16, Acts 2:37-39, Romans 10:9, Luke 16:19-31)

We believe that there are core doctrines from Scripture that cannot be compromised and are essential for believing as men and women who have received salvation, and as Jesus puts it, are “born again”. These doctrines we hold as essential are:

 a. The belief that God is one God, triune in nature, existing eternally and revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 48:12-16, Matthew 3:16-17, John 8:57-59&10:33, Revelation 1:4-5)

 b. The belief that God is Infinite, Holy, and Sovereign and His will will be accomplished without hindrance. (Job 42:2, 1 John 3:20, Revelation 1:8, Matthew 6:9-10. Revelation 4:8, 1 Peter 1:13-17)

 c. The belief that Jesus Christ the Son was fully intended to redeem mankind before anything was made that was made and the fall of Adam was in the full scope of God’s eternal decree. (Revelation 13:8, Ephesians 1:11, Acts 2:22-24 & 4:27-28)

 d. The belief that Jesus eternally existed as God the Son in spirit form and became incarnate through the virgin Mary, taking on flesh, and remaining without sin, for the purpose of redeeming mankind through his death on the cross as a penal substitution for what mankind deserves because of his sin (Exodus 3:14, John 8:58-59, John 1:1 & 14, Isaiah 7:14 & 9:6-7, 1 Peter 2:21-24, Galatians 4:4, Romans 6:23).

 e. The belief that Jesus rose from the dead in bodily form and ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father and it is through His intercession alone that His elect are granted access unto the Father until that appointed time when all are gathered unto Him and all things are made new. (John 2:19-21, Mark 8:31, Luke 24:39, 1 Corinthians 15:12-23, Acts 1:6-11, Hebrews 1:1-3, Colossians 3:1, 1 John 2:1, Hebrews 7:25, Hebrews 4:14-16, John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5)

f. The belief that the Holy Spirit is the sign and seal of our redemption who regenerates and indwells all believers and empowers us to walk according to the will of God. His primary purpose for the church is to convict us towards holiness and reveal to us all that God has spoken through the scriptures in revealing Christ and all He has spoken. He also gives spiritual gifts to us for the edification and encouragement of each other in order to unify us as one bride set apart for the glory of God and produces fruit in us as we walk in step with His plan and purpose for our lives. (2 Corinthians 1:21-22 & 5:5, Ephesians 1:13-14 & 4:30, Ephesians 2:1-5, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 3:4-7, John 14:15-17, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 John 4:12-13,  John  14:26 & 15:26,  Galatians  5:16-25,1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

 g. The belief that at conception man is made eternal and will exist forever at his resurrection in eternal glory as the bride of Christ or subjected justly to eternal torment in hell which is described as a lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Genesis 1:26, Psalm 139:13,16, 1 Corinthians 15:42-58, John 3:16, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20:10-15)

 h. The belief that mankind can only be saved from the just penalty of eternal hell through faith in Jesus Christ who by grace alone gives the gift of His substitutionary penalty to all who call upon His name and turn to Him as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:4-9, Romans 6:23 & 10:8-13)

 i. The belief in the imminent return of Jesus for His bride and that the hope of that return is a bedrock of our faith to endure until that day. (Luke 12:40, Titus 2:11-13, 1 Thessalonians 4:12-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54, Revelation 3:10-11)

 6. We believe in the absolute of Male(Man) and Female(Woman) as God made them while acknowledging birth defects as a cause of Adam’s curse and not being a justified category of distinction from what God originally intended in the sexes. (Genesis 1:27, Matthew 19:4-5)

 7. We believe in the sanctity of Marriage between one man and one woman and that being the only Holy relationship whereby the gift of sexual expression and intimacy is good and acceptable to God. We believe that divorce is not ~

what God has intended for marriage as an option in the divine marriage covenant and that scripture alone gives precedence for its permissibility in the tragic event that it should take place. (Genesis 2:18-25, Leviticus 18, Matthew 19:3-11, Romans 1:18 & 24-28, Hebrews 13:4)

  1. We believe in the sanctity of life that begins at conception and that the true character of those sanctified through salvation operates within the divine sphere of true love as expressed by Christ through the cross and his expression that “Greater love has no man than he who would lay down his life for his friends”. Therefore, as children are brought into existence through conception, we believe that at all stages of their development we should cherish and diligently care for their well being and seek all means that God would make available to protect and preserve them inside and outside of the womb for His glory. (Psalm 139:13-16, John 15:12-14, Exodus 21:22-25, Matthew 18:1-14, Matthew 25:31-46, Acts 6:1-7)

  1. We believe that heaven will be a place of eternal perfect worship of our Holy Creator and will consist of men and women from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Therefore, we abhor the elevation of skin color, racial distinction or language as anything superior or more noble than another and we encourage and celebrate interracial marriages but do not regard them as any more noble either. We uphold the divine statement that what God has brought together no man should separate and that unity with our fellow man in loving our neighbor as we love ourselves is truly Christ honoring. Therefore race, social status, wealth or poverty should never be an obstacle to expressing our love and presentation of the gospel in our world. (Revelation 7:9-12, Galatians 3:26-29, Mark 10:7-9, Matthew 22:36-40, 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, James 1:9-11 & 2:1-9, John 13:34-35,)
